Reflection on the Arbitrary Quality of Life

In the Park the ducks get fed,
Kind people throw them bits of bread.
Oh, what a rotten stroke of luck,
To be hatched a pigeon, and not a duck!

  2. Thank you, mm and HHnB. I felt very sorry for that poor old pigeon watching the feeding frenzy!

  3. But in the Square the table's turned,
The pigeons feed, no crumb is spurned.
The ducks, so clumsy on webbed feet,
Can only watch the pigeons eat.

  4. Brilliant, Peregrina - but where's your blog and where's your photograph?

  5. I've been waiting for inspiration to respond with a few lines of verse, but my brain's all used up and besides, Peregrina's now done it — wonderfully.

  6. PPete: it's not like you to be lost for words, but I imagine you are bowled over by the rapid development of my photographic skills!
